Something that the bible speaks about because the people are Hebrew. Just read Genesis 38 regarding Judah and Tamar, his daughter-in-law. There were customs in Hebrew culture whereby if a man died, his brother was to marry his wife and continue his line. Well, due to a mishap with Judah's sons Er, Onan, and Shelah, Judah ends up procreating with his own daughter-in-law. Although this procreation was inappropriate, it happened because the custom of the brother marrying his deceased brother's widow is a legitimate Hebrew custom, but something went wrong. Study the bible, which is Hebrew culture. A man takes over and marry his brother's wife (if the dead brother never had children with her) and not boy marrying his stepmom. That's a taboo!
