On 1 and 2 February 2023, Rwanda hosed the Partnership in Applied Sciences Engineering and Technology (PASET) Governance Meeting in Kigali. Launched in 2013 to strengthen Applied Science, Engineering and Technology contribution to socio-economic transformation in Sub-Saharan Africa. The current PASET members are : Côte d'Ivoire, Benin, Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Mozambique, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal and Tanzania. Through the Regional Scholarship and Innovation Fund (RSIF) funding programme over 291 PhD students of which 9 have graduated to-date were offered scholarships . The programme also offered 44 research and innovation grants via its competitive grant mechanism among others.
